Back in the USA

Such a long flight.

Not including layovers, waiting for planes, transfers, customs, the baggage carousel, and the hour drive home from Sacramento… I’m home in a record time of 23 hours.  It’s amazing that I could leave Melbourne on Monday morning and poof! arrive in California on Monday morning - - I do have to say it’s like going back to the future with the date line change.  It was a long a grueling flight but Rod finally got me a window seat where I could rest my tired head and get some shuteye.  I slept for about 6 hours and then dozed in and out of Hitch, and Million Dollar Baby interesting enough the two gentlemen sitting next to me shed a tear (no, not to Hitch).

My final days in Melbourne were filled with interviews and the Victoria market, which is the downtown market where you go buy goods, vegetables, fruit, meats, etc.

It’s an awesome place and we had a lot of fun walking around for almost three hours.  I got to do a little more driving, and Rod and I caught Mr. & Mrs. Smith at the local theater. I dont think Rod liked it but I thought it was cute.

So, now I’m home and back on the clock.  I have about four weeks to get things situated… move from my house, ship my goods to Australia, put some things in storage, get Mom set up with my computer so she can chat with me on-line via web cam, give notice and quit my job, say goodbye to all my friends, and finally perform in my last three shows with Simply Irresistible.  We are playing at Feather Falls Casino in Oroville, CA on July 9th in the Showroom, and at Kings Tavern in Paradise, CA on July 16 & 17th.  Following this last show I will be shipping out.

Luckily I will be seeing my Mom and some family friends on a European cruise in October this year - Rod is making arrangements for me to fly to Venice and catch the cruise which tours Italy and the Greek Islands.  I am also hoping to meet up with my longtime pal Frantseska Tsakpinis from Athens - I have already sent off a letter to her notifying her of our plans in October.

I am going to be posting all of my photos from this first trip to the photo album called First Trip to Oz so check there for fun pictures of the city and our adventures!  I’d love to see your comments so click below to leave a message for me here on the blog.
